A cat with a two-toned face named Narnia is now a father of two kittens. But, the interesting thing about his kitten was the color that they have on their fur.
Narnia, a cat that lived in Britain with his owner Stephanie Jiminez might look like a chimera cat. Chimera cat is a cat whose cells contain two types of DNA, caused when two embryos fuse together. It even sometimes has a striking two-toned face.
But according to the owner of the black-and-grey-faced feline, a DNA test revealed that was not the case. “A geneticist performed tests and (found) Narnia has only one DNA … there remains a mystery for science,” said Jiminez.
“He also has beautiful blue eyes, which is very rare in a cat that is all black. Normally blue eyes are often found in white cats,” added Jiminez.
Although it is unknown what happens with Narnia, his two kittens inherit the unique color from his fur. Those kittens follow the colors from each side of his face.
Prada is all-black except for a little bit of white under her chin while her twin brother Phoenix is all-grey. Unfortunately, both kittens do not have blue eyes like their father but have brown eyes instead.
It is said that after spending time with Narnia the past few months, the kittens were on their way to new homes. But, both Prada and Phoenix will always carry a bit of their dad with them.
