World number one tennis player Novak Djokovic from Serbia has been infected with COVID-19 after playing in a match in Croatia last week.
According to AP News report, the show is said to not keep social distancing. However, Djokovic had undergone a COVID-19 test on Monday after returning to Belgrade.
This also caused the wife of the tennis player to be infected with COVID-19 while their children were not infected by the pandemic.
Before this, player from Croatia, Borna Coric, Grigor Dimitrov from Bulgaria and Viktor Troicki from Serbia has been infected with COVID-19 after performing at a tournament or otherwise known as the Djokovic Adria Tour.
“Unfortunately, this virus is still present, and it is a new reality that we are still learning to cope and live with. I am hoping things will ease with time so we can all resume lives the way they were,” said Djokovic.
“I am extremely sorry for each individual case of infection. I hope that it will not complicate anyone’s health situation and that everyone will be fine,” he added.
For now, Djokovic will remain in self-quarantine for 14 days although he is not having any symptom of COVID-19.
