Take a look at your cutting boards at your home and restaurants. Is it been scratched, stains, and has been moldy? In fact, it is one of the reason of food poisoning that causes you to have diarrhea and stomach pain.
Studies show that 1 cm square of the cutting board contains over 24 thousand bacteria. This is 200 times more than the germs in the toilet seat!
Although the condition of the cutting board has been poor and looks disgusting, do not know, Why a lot of people are still using it! Cracks and scratches on the cutting board are “holes” for germs such as Salmonella, E-coli, and so on.
In addition, sharing the use of cutting boards for raw materials (chicken, fish, meat) and vegetables/fruits should also be avoided.
For example, after you cut the chicken, germs on the raw chicken will stick to the cutting board, then with the same board, you cut the vegetables and fruits.
