Jurgen Klopp Open Letter Urged Fans Not To Gather After ‘Unwanted Scenes’ in The City

As we all know, Liverpool has been declared as the English Premier League (EPL) champion last Friday. With the win, the club finally claims its first league title in 30 years.

But unfortunately, the supporters were reported to celebrate their favorite club wins beyond the limit and not in a safe way.

As reported by CNN, several people were injured in the celebrations in the city. It is even said that fireworks were aimed at the city’s iconic Liver Building resulting in a small fire.

The police were also involved in a number of violent confrontations with the supporters. Even at the outside of the Anfield Stadium, thousand of supporters was gathered to celebrate the win.

Because of the incident, Liverpool’s manager Jurgen Klopp has made an open letter regarding what has happened.

“I am a human being and your passion is also my passion but right now the most important thing is that we do not have these kinds of public gatherings,” Klopp wrote.

“We owe it to the most vulnerable in our community, to the health workers who have given so much and whom we have applauded and to the police and local authorities who help us as a club not to do this.

“Please — celebrate — but celebrate in a safe way and in private settings, whereby we do not risk spreading this awful disease further in our community,” he added.

Klopp also promised the supporters that they will have the chance to celebrate with the teams in the near future but in a safer way.

“When the time is right we will celebrate. We will enjoy this moment and we will paint the city red. But for now, please stay at home as much as possible,” he said
