Nursing Home Residents Recreates Famous Album Covers

A nursing or care home in England creates a very unique idea where the residents become a model of many famous and classic album covers.

Since March 12, Sydmar Lodge Care Home that is located in Edgware has been in lockdown to prevent the spread of COVID-19 infection.

So, the home’s activities coordinator, Robert Speker use the idea to keep the resident’s morale up. Speker decided to do a photoshoot with the residents.

But, it is not just a normal photoshoot that we usually see. According to Speker, he takes photoshoots of the residents where they recreate famous album covers of popular singers like Taylor Swift, Madonna, Michael Jackson, and Adele.

“I have had the idea for a while and thought the residents would really enjoy the activity,” said Speker to CNN.

“I made the suggestions of which albums and which resident best suited the look, or had a vague similarity to the artist, then I proposed the idea to each resident,” he added.

Speker also said that instead of sadness, his only aim was to show that care homes can be a place of happiness even during the pandemic. He wants to make something that would bring a smile to people’s faces.

Although the residents do not sure what the result was going to be, it is believed that they were all happy to participate.

“They all found it so amusing. They loved seeing themselves and their fellow residents and were really having a good giggle over it, which was so lovely to see,” said Speker.
