Palestinian Man Climbed Hospital Window To See Covid-19 Mother As She Breathes Her Last

When a family member gets infected by Covid-19, they will be separated from the rest of the family. We will not be allowed to visit and patients have to be quarantined and isolated for weeks or even months until they fully recovered.

A man from Hebron, Palestine was reported to be sitting on a window that he climbed every day to ensure that his mother, who has infected by Covid-19, was getting the best care and attention possible.

A photo of him sitting by the hospital window went viral and touched the heart of many netizens.

Jihad Al-Suwaiti, 30, climbed a window on a second floor every day until his mother, Rasma Salama, passed away on 16th July.

According to a hospital officer, “He climbed the pipeline so that he could monitor his mother who was on the second floor of the hospital.”

“He spent most of his day there, observing his mother’s condition from outside the window before coming down when he was sure his mother was asleep.” he added.

Jihad had been banned from doing so by the hospital due to safety and security reasons, but he remained stubborn and continued to do it so every day.

Jihad’s older brother, Rasmi, said, “Jihad is the youngest child and is indeed close to his mother, especially after the death of our father 15 years ago.”

“Our mother had leukemia and was diagnosed with Covid-19 a few weeks ago. When informed of our mother’s death, Jihad was angry and disbelieving.”

“But now he seems to be able to accept it,” he added.
