(Video) Lorry Driver Caught Speeding Was Actually Fighting Deadly Snake With A Knife

Jimmy, 27, was cruising on the highway when he spotted a snake slithering towards his leg up to his laps on June 15 in Queensland, Australia. It is an eastern brown snake that he saw in his truck.

Know to be highly venomous, eastern snake brown also responsible for the majority of snakebite deaths in Australia. Its venom can cause progressive paralysis and stops the blood from clotting. According to Australian Geographic, victims are at risk of collapsing within minutes.

“I was just driving at 100kmh and I just started to brake”, the driver said.

“The more I moved my legs, it just started to wrap around me. Its head just started striking at the driver’s seat,  between my legs,” he added.

Worrying that he had already been bitten, Jimmy believed he had no other choice but to kill the snake and take it with him to the hospital.

Jimmy was speeding on the highway and a roadside police officer quickly intercepting him.

He told the officer everything that happened and asked the officer to “feel his heart” if he doesn’t believe it.

With Jimmy traumatized, the officer quickly called for medical help and paramedics.

Jimmy had not been bitten by the snake but he suffers from shock.

Right after the ambulance arrived, Jimmy said, “It was pretty terrifying. I’ve never been so happy to see red and blue lights,”.

“Brown snakes have unusually fast-acting venom and can kill within 15 minutes,” said Associate Professor Bryan Fry, a snake expert at the University of Queensland.

Queensland Police stated that this was a “unique situation” and it’s illegal to capture or injure brown snakes.
