A company in the Sichuan city of Chengdu, China forced an employee to eat extremely spicy snacks until she gets hospitalized then fire her.
The woman was forced to eat the spicy snacks because she failed to meet their quotas. “Deathly Spicy Sticks”, the name of the snacks, with a skull and crossbones featured on the packaging.
After eating the snacks, two of the women were sent to the hospital and hospitalized. She said she was in so much pain that she fainted then had to be carried out of the office.
Doctors diagnosed her with cramps and acute gastroenteritis caused by the incident she had.
After all the suffering and the pain that she went through, the company refused to compensate for it and only offered to reimburse her medical expenses. However, she was informed that she had been fired from her job when she returned to work.
The company stated that the woman did not “conform to their corporate culture” as an explanation for her dismissal.
