Five Signs Your Smartphone Was Hacked

Hackers have multiple reasons and numerous ways to infect your gadgets. There are several signs to indicate a smartphone hack.

These signs include mysterious apps, decreasing battery life, slower speeds, difference in website appearance, increase in data usage, “pop-ups”, and email getting blocked by spam filters.

If any of these signs seem all too familiar to you, pay attention because you may be hacked.

Here are some of the most common ones.

1. Phone battery runs out quickly

Each phone has a different battery capacity and as a phone user, you can definitely read the battery life of your phone. But if suddenly your phone’s battery decreases drastically with normal use most likely because there are unknown applications operating in your phone system.

The application is likely malware that is capable of stealing your personal data.

2. The phone becomes warm all of a sudden

This will happen if there is an application running in the phone system. If this happens you are advised to follow these steps in the Settings> Developer options>Running services section.

If you find an unknown application, ‘delete’ it immediately and avoid uploading the application from an unreliable source.

3. Wifi is active by itself

Your wifi is suddenly active when in public. It may be you are being watched. Trough public Wifi, hackers can easily transmit viruses and steal your data.

4. Internet quota runs out quickly

It is one of the signs there is an application that is sending data without your knowledge as owner. Watch out!

5. Advertisement and pop-ups appear

This is one of the obvious signs. It indicates that an external element has invaded.
