Giant Sea Cockroaches That Look Like Darth Vader Discovered

If you are not afraid of cockroaches, you should take a look at the species of sea cockroaches that researchers recently discovered.

Discovered in the Indian Ocean by researchers from the National University of Singapore, this odd living creature has seven pairs of legs with the gigantic scientific name Bathynoumus.

The sea cockroach is also known as isopod, is a vertebrate marine life and belongs to the crab and shrimp family. The two-week research conducted by the team successfully collected 12,000 marine life from 800 species with 12 of them not yet scientifically recorded.

Most isopods can typically grow up to 33 centimeters, but the Gigantes Bathynoumus found can reach up to over 50 centimeters.

The average citizen who first saw the species of sea cockroach likened it to the character of Darth Vader in Star Wars, even suggested that his name be changed to Isopod Darth Vader.
