Tokyo authorities said a heat stroke had resulted in the deaths of 27 people in the metropolitan area in 6 days, as hot weather continued to hit Japan.
The Medical Examiner’s Office says the death toll is from the age of 50s to the 90s and 70% of the deaths are in the 70s to 90s.
Of the 27 deaths that occurred, a total of 26 deaths occurred in the house, and out of the total number of deaths were also 23 victims who did not have air conditioning in their homes.
Statistics show that the death toll from the heatstroke in the Japanese capital in August has reached 53 people.
People were advised to use air conditioning all the time and drink water frequently to help prevent heatstroke.
