Stinkiest Sushi In The World Turns Into Ice Cream Flavor In Japan

Sushi is something that everyone enjoys to have a bite. Originally from Japan, sushi is now can be seen around the globe. But there is also one sushi that not everyone loves, this is because of the smell that it produces.

Funazushi is a type of sushi where a heavily fermented fish is used as the main ingredient. The fish is preserved in salt and then kept in wooden barrels for a year. After a year, I will be taken out and mixed with rice for another two to three years.

The stinky smell of the sushi comes from the pungent odor from the fish that comes from the long fermentation process. During this period. the fish start to decay and release the smell that’s “up to people to define.”

Located in Nihonbashi, japan, Koko Shiga now serves this specialty of Shiga Prefecture at the price of 400 yen (RM15.90).

Comes with a piece of fish-shaped wafer. Surprisingly, the sweet aroma has overpowered the stench of the funazushi flavor, including little bit sprinkles on top which seem to be the fish flakes.

It said that the taste has no hints of tasting like pungent fish but more to Mascarpone cheese.
