One of the popular app, TikTok will challenge Trump administration in court after they plan to ban the app in the United States.
“To ensure that the rule of law prevails and that our company and users are treated fairly, we have no choice but to challenge the Executive Order through the judicial system,” said TikTok in a statement to CNN.
According to CNN, ByteDance on Sunday has announced that it will sue the US government to challenge the Trump administration executive order.
“In order to ensure that the rule of law is not abandoned, and to ensure that the company and users are treated fairly, we will safeguard our rights and interests through litigation,” said ByteDance in a statement.
Earlier this month, Microsoft has said that it was in talks to acquire TikTok’s US operations after a conversation between CEO Satya Nadella and President Donald Trump.
Before this, the Trump Administration argues that TikTok’s relationship with China could result in the transfer of user’s data in the US to the Chinese government. TikTok denied this, saying that they would refuse to provide American data to China even if requested.
