PUTRAJAYA, Sept 28 – The Ministry of Health (MOH) has received approval to extend contracts one-off for 2,070 medical officers, dental officers, and pharmacy officers for another six (6) months.
Its Minister, Datuk Seri Dr. Adham Baba said, the approval to extend the six (6) month contract was agreed by the Ministry of Finance on September 18.
“The approval is in addition to the existing six (6) month contract given earlier.
“It involves 79 medical officers – who have completed compulsory services only because they have undergone graduate training abroad, 852 dental officers and 1,139 pharmacy officers who have completed training or compulsory services,” he said in a statement, today.
It is understood that the total allocation incurred through the allocation of the COVID-19 Fund (COVID-19 Fund) is RM81 million.
“The extension of this contract is a manifestation of the government’s concern to enable officers to continue to provide services at health facilities under the MOH,” the statement added.
