The actress who once starred in the popular drama Game of Thrones, Diana Rigg has passed away at the age of 82. Her agent, in a statement said she had died “peacefully” early Thursday morning at home with her family, who had asked for privacy.
The actress who won Emmy, Tony and Bafta awards throughout her career passed away six months after diagnosed with cancer.
“Dame Diana was a much loved and admired member of her profession, a force of nature who loved her work and her fellow actors,” he added. “She will be greatly missed,” said her agent, Simon Beresford.
Riggs daughter Rigg’s daughter who is also an actress, Rachael Stirling says that her mother has spent her last months happily thinking about her extraordinary life, full of love, laughter and pride in her profession.
“I will miss her beyond words,” she said.
Other than Game of Thrones, Rigg is also known for acting in various dramas and movies, making her win various awards. Among her famous dramas and films like The Avengers (1965-1968), Diana (1973-1974), and The Great Muppet Caper (1981).
Not only that, she is also famous in theatrical plays such as Medea (1992, 1993, 1994), Who’s Afraid of Virginia Wolf (1996, 1997) and My Fair Lady (2018).
