The Japanese actress who once starred in the ‘Kamen Rider Hibiki’ series, Sei Ashina was found dead at her residence last Monday morning. She was found dead at her Tokyo apartment by her family.
The 36 years old Ashina began her career as an actress with TV debut back in 2002. Before she began her acting career, she worked as a fashion model.
Ashina who is born in Fukushima in 1983, starred in the superhero television series ‘Kamen Rider Hibiki’ and the film ‘Kamen Rider Hibiki & The Seven Senki’ which was released in 2005.
She also starred in several other films including Nanase: The Psychic Wanderers (2010), Tale of Genji: A Thousand Year Engima (2011), and Silk (2007).
Her most recent appearance was in the TV series “Theseus no Fune” (Ship of Theseus) and the movie “AI Hokai” (AI Amok) was released in 2020.
Ashina’s death marks the latest in a series of suicides in the Japanese entertainment industry. In May, professional wrestler and reality star, Hana Kimura and in July actor Haruma Miura both died by suicide.
