New Manga In Japan, Depicts Journey Searching Halal Malaysian Food in Japan

The Japanese comic, or well-known as manga has become very famous in Malaysia. Many manga enthusiasts simply mesmerized with amazing drawings from manga artists apart from the storyline.

The storyline of manga sometimes depicts life story, friendship, family, and can go as far as magical and fantasies. The settings of manga usually will portray Japanese life and culture as the origin of the manga is from Japan.

Amazingly, a manga artist, Misuji Yamamoto decided to bring the manga readers a bit different from their usual reads. This time, Yamamoto brings the readers to the life of a Muslim in a non-Muslim country.

The manga, Halal Food With Me and My Little Brothers or in Japanese, 僕とおとうとのハラルご飯 (Boku To Otouto No Halal Gohan) depicts the daily life of three brothers, Riku, Irfan, and Mikha in searching for halal food in Japan.

The issue in this story is where and how are they going to get halal food. The three brothers were born in different countries, which is Japan and Malaysia. It is a pride for Malaysians to know that our foods and culture has been spreading widely.

In the manga, the author introduces several Malaysian dishes as the brothers have to cook and find halal-certified foods in their daily life. Some of the familiar foods are ayam goreng, and sambal terung. The manga is still ongoing and will be updated twice a month.
