People nowadays are willing to spend any amount of money for the things they love the most. Well, it is not a completely wrong action if you spend it with your own money but it is going to be wrong if you are using other people’s money. It becomes even more wrong if you spend the money without the owner’s consent. This is what happened with this teenager in India who spent his grandfather pension for his own mobile game that is PUBG.
There has been a report in India stating that a teenage boy aged 15 years old have used his grandfather’s pension in a total amount of RM12,931. The teenage boy was so addicted to his video games until he was willing to do this shocking behavior so that he can spend it in the mobile game that is going viral nowadays, PUBG.
Gulf News reported, the poor grandfather only knows about this case after he has received a message from the bank informing that an amount of RM141 has been deducted from his own bank account and the balance left in his bank account was only RM15.46.
Because of that, he takes a quick action to contact the bank as he thought that he was trapped in a scam. Based on the police report made, the old man never made any money transfers and he also never received a one time password (OTP) that people usually get if they made any money transfers.
New Delhi’s cyber cell stated that the teen has transferred all the money from the grandfather’s pension account. The teenage boy then has proceeded to use the transferred money for in-app purchases in his PUBG game account.
The grandfather finally reported the incident to the police. After further investigations, the cyber police of New Delhi discovered that the money was transferred to an e-wallet that was owned by his own grandson’s acquaintance. Police also found out that the e-wallet account owned by a 23-year-old boy. After deep investigation, they discovered that his friend had asked him for the ID and password of his mobile wallet account.
The particular person that has used Kumar’s account used it to make payments on Google Play for PUBG. Shockingly, that person was none other than the grandson of the man who has lost his pension money. The teenager then admitted that he had transferred the amount from his grandfather’s account for the use of the online games.
