Yesterday, the number of new cases in Malaysia has hit 260 cases which is the second-highest that Malaysia has ever reached. Citizens now are worrying as there might be a second Movement Control Order (MCO) that would be applied to all Malaysians. There are a few ways that we can do to stop it from happening as it would bring a huge impact.
1. Avoid Touching Your Face
This might be sound simple but it can be the main reason for the virus to get into your body. Touching your eyes, nose, and mouth could easily give the virus a way to get into you and you will see the symptoms in just a few days.
Whenever you feel like to touch any part of your face, use a tissue as it is easy to be thrown away. If you have no tissue or anything that can prevent from your bare hands touching your face, make sure to sanitize your hand before you hands land on your face.
2. Limit Social Gathering And Time Spent In Crowded Places
One of the ways for coronavirus to be easily spread is in crowded places where people are close enough to each other. It is recommended to be at least one meter apart between person. Spending time too long at a place full of people can be dangerous as it’s increasing the risk for someone to get affected. The time that someone should be spent in such an area is only about 15 to 20 minutes.
3. Avoid Close Contact With Someone Who Is Sick
Those who are sick even though it is not from coronavirus, are easy to get the infection from the virus. It is suggested for those who are healthy to stay away from anyone who is sick in order to stop the spread. Quarantine yourself at least for 14 days if you just get back from a place with high COVID-19 cases so you will not be spreading the virus if you have it. In the 14 days, if you getting symptoms of COVID-19, you can be treated quickly without affecting anyone else.
4. Clean And Disinfect Frequently Touched Objects And Surfaces
According to Honor Health, it is still unknown if coronavirus can spread from hard surfaces to people or how long it may live outside the human body. We should take extra caution and clean high-touch surfaces like doorknobs, tables, light switches, desks, faucets, toilets, and sinks with household disinfectants that are appropriate for the surface. This is really important when you have kids in the house where they love to play and explore. In order to keep you and your family safe, make sure to frequently sanitized the furniture in the house.
5. Wear Mask Or Clothe Covering
A cloth face covering or masks helps to protect the wearer and also keeps the wearer from spreading the virus to others. In order to reduce the risk of COVID-19 spreading, we should wear masks when around people outside of the household. This is really recommended when it comes to places where social distancing measures are difficult to maintain.
