Employee In Red Zones Urged To Work From Home – Ismail Sabri

Senior Minister of Defense, Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri through a press conference today informed that workers in the public and private sectors of the management and supervision division in the Red Zone were instructed to work from home effective October 22.

“Today’s meeting has already decided that employees in the public and private sectors at the management and supervision level do not need to come to the office and they can work from home.

“This is to reduce the movement of workers who have to work because factories are opened as usual in Selangor, the Federal Territory, and Sabah.

“To break the COVID-19 network in this CMCO area, we reduce the movement of workers. It is understood that with this result, 1 million workers can be reduced from working in offices as well as industrial and manufacturing sectors “he said.

“I order employers to issue a release letter for employees to work from home,” he added.

He added that the order of working from home will take effect starting October 22.

Details on the type of employment, standard operating procedures, and so on will be informed by the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI) in the near future.
