Several Areas In Kota Kinabalu Hit By Flash Floods

KOTA KINABALU, Oct 5  — Several areas in the city were hit by flash floods due to heavy rain since late last night.

Among the areas affected are Taman Telipok Jaya, Taman Telipok Ria, Kampung Lokub, Kampung Lorong Pulau, Manggatal as well as Kampung Kaulan and Kampung Rugading, Tuaran.

This was confirmed by a Sabah Fire and Rescue Department operations centre spokesperson when contacted today adding that it is closely monitoring the situation.

A Bernama check found that floodwaters began to inundate several roads in the city, affecting several vehicles parked at the low lying areas.

The heavy downpour also caused traffic congestion on several major roads.
