‘Smiley’ Baby Born Without Eyes & Abandoned By Mother Finally Finds Loving Home

Often smiles but who would have thought that the beginning of the life of this cute baby from Russia is full of grief. Born without eyes, it makes the baby one of the three babies in the world born with very rare conditions.

The little boy was abandoned by his mother and placed in an orphanage.

Through the Mirror UK report, her mother felt that she could not raise her properly due to the rare condition of the eyes.

A nurse who treated the toddler when she was just six months old said that she was no different from other babies, she played and smiled like a healthy baby.

“He loves playing and adores swimming. He is a very cheerful baby indeed, “said the nurse.

Other children born with the same condition as the baby with SOX2 anophthalmia syndrome usually have serious health problems.

SOX2 anophthalmia syndrome is only experienced by one child in every 250,000 people and causes abnormal development of the eyes and other parts of the body.

According to a doctor, the baby was one of three other babies in the world born without eyeballs. He also had no hope of seeing but a small implant eyeball was installed in his eyes to make sure his face did not look deformed when he grew up.

He needs further surgery every six months to increase the size of the eyeball size according to his enlargement. The baby was also reported to have found a family who was willing to adopt him in November last year.
