Because of that, the Road Transport Department (JPJ) recently has announced that you can now renew your motorcycle license and also driving license online through the myEG system in the comfort of your home or office.

  1. Motorcycle License Holder (LKM)- Can start to renew online starting from 9 October 2020.
  2. Competent Driver’s License (CDL)- Can start to renew online starting from 16 October 2020.
  3. Driving Learning License (LDL) and Trial Driving License (PDL)- Still not available to renew online.
This particular move taken by the JPJ is one of the government initiatives to digitalize all the services that they do while adhering to new norms that have been recommended by many people. JPJ has said in an official statement that the online service through the myEG system for LKM renewal matters is only can be used for private vehicles. Other than that, they also have explained that JPJ has been facing service disruption ever since the starting of the Movement Control Order and had to even close a few counters which have been inconvenienced for many of the Malaysians. Thus, through this initiative, JPJ hopes to be more efficient in handling their services for the people.
