Uncle Willing To Sell Lepat Pisang In Jitra, Collect Money To Do Eye Surgery

In times like this, it is undeniable that some have to work hard in order to survive. There is no term for tired, as long as they are able and have the strength, they will definitely work for a living.

The situation is similar to a tweet by a girl, Nuriylia Malek on Twitter about a senior citizen whom she found selling on the side of the road in Jitra, recently.

With the remaining strength, the senior citizen is seen still standing eagerly waiting for customers who come to buy his kuih such as lepat pisang (steamed banana packets) and pulut udang (charred savory glutinous rice).

Based on what the girl said, the uncle wanted to raise money in order to fulfill one of his desires all this time, which is to perform eye surgery so that his vision is clearer. For now, his eyes are less visible due to diabetes.

According to Nuriylia, the total cost of the surgery cost RM3 thousand but the senior citizen could only collect hundreds of ringgit as a result of the kuih sales.

“Uncle said he wanted to have an eye operation. The eyes do not see clearly cause of diabetes. Total 3k. For now, there are only a few hundred,” she said.

Many Twitter users in the comments section also expressed their sympathy and admiration for the uncle’s efforts to make a living without asking.

In fact, the deliciousness of the cakes sold by him is also acknowledged by many residents around Jitra. We pray that he can raise enough money so that he can perform eye surgery.
