According to a report by the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia), a magnitude 5.9 earthquake on the Richter scale hit Mindanao, Philippines at 6.37 AM this morning.
MetMalaysia also stated that the quake occurred about 18 kilometers (km) Northeast of Bislig, Philippines at a depth of 36 km.
However, the quake did not pose a tsunami threat to Malaysia.
