DPPIMS Regrets Accusation Of SOP Non-Compliance Among Members

KOTA KINABALU, Nov 17 —The Sabah Indian Muslim Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DPPIMS), whose members include restaurant operators, have always adhered to the standard operating procedures (SOP) set by the Health Ministry.

It’s president Abdul Kadir Faruk, in a statement, said Indian restaurant owners have endured severe hardship due to the COVID-19 pandemic and have always been on the alert to safeguard their customers and themselves against the pandemic as everyone is at risk of infection.

Abdul Kadir said the pandemic had caused severe financial hardship to DPPIMS members and any accusation of non-compliance of the SOPs among the members was very much regretted.

He said instead of asking the operators as to how they were overcoming the problem, let alone offer any assistance, the critics had the temerity to falsely accuse them of non-compliance of SOPs.

Abdul Kadir was commenting on a recent media reports quoting a local politician that workers of Indian-operated coffee shops and eateries were not adhering to the SOPs by not wearing face masks properly during operation hours.

“Our members have always worked tirelessly to contain the spread of COVID-19 by adhering to all SOPs announced and implemented by the government,” he added.
