Former Minister Mokhtar Hashim Dies

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 18 — Former Culture, Youth and Sports Minister Datuk Mokhtar Hashim died early this morning at the age of 78.

His nephew Ahmad Hafiz Abdul Raffar, in a Facebook posting, said Mokhtar died at 3.10 am.

It is learned that Mokhtar passed away at Hospital Ampang here.

“Details on the arrangement for funeral prayers and burial will be announced later; let’s all pray for his soul to be blessed and placed among the faithful and righteous servants of Allah,” he said.
