On Twitter, a fellow user (@nii_yama) shared a Tiktok about a Malaysian girl telling the story of her condition in the video.
It had received 5,700 retweets despite just being posted for less than 24 hours.

Tourette syndrome or Tourette’s syndrome is a common neurodevelopmental disorder that begins in childhood or adolescence. It is characterized by multiple movement tics and at least one vocal tic.
Common tics are blinking, coughing, throat clearing, sniffing, and facial movements. These are typically preceded by an unwanted urge or sensation in the affected muscles, can sometimes be suppressed temporarily, and characteristically change in location, strength, and frequency.
The girl from the Tiktok, Alani, or @daylandalani had this condition since she was a child. Usually, the condition fades away as they grow older, but apparently, it can come back if the person is undergoing stress in their daily lives – as she explained in a video where people accuse her of being an attention-seeker and faking her tics.
It’s not difficult to educate ourselves on the different things people go through – it makes us be more considerate and respectful, as one should be when they deal with things they have not to experience.
