One particular man in Indonesia has become an instant Millionaire overnight after a “lucky stone” literally fell from the sky onto his own home through his roof. According to the news, this 33-year-old man named Josua Hutagalung that is originally from North Sumatera has become a millionaire after he manages to sell a meteorite that fell onto his own house for the price of more than RM7.6 million to a particular meteorite specialist in Bali named Jared Collins. The meteorite had fallen through Josua’s roof and caused a hole, then landed 15cm into the ground next to his house.
The meteorite that fell onto Josua’s house is said to be about 4.5 billion years old and also is classified as the CM1/2 carbonaceous Chondrite which is a very rare rock to be found. This type of meteorite can be sold to up to the price of RM7.59 million or even RM3, 514 per gram and it is all depending on the size of the rarely found rock. Other than that, this particular meteorite also contains metals that are from space which can also be sold at RM4, 105 per gram.
Josua Hutagalung has shared that the meteorite he found was a good weight of 2.1 kilograms and also was still hot to the touch. It also flaked when it got touched. He said, “The sound was so loud that parts of the house were shaking too. And after I searched, I saw that the tin roof of the house had broken”. He also added, “I strongly suspect that this rock is indeed an object from the sky that many people call a meteorite. Because it is impossible someone deliberately threw it or dropped it from above”.
This particular father of three said that he would use some of the money he obtained after selling the meteorite to finally build a church in his own community. Josua Hutagalung stated, “I have also always wanted a daughter, and I hope this is a sign that I will be lucky enough now to have one”.
