PS5 Console Will Only Be Available Online Due To Covid-19 Pandemic – Sony

The official launch of any highly-anticipated product will always gather long queues outside of their particular store on the day it is released for sale. It has happened towards many products such as mobile phones, games and others. Unfortunately in 2020, that cannot happen anymore due to the Covid-19 pandemic and one of it is PS5 Console.

Recently, Sony announced that the launch of one of their newest additions that is the PlayStation 5 console on the 12th of November 2020 or the 19th of November 2020 in other regions, will be held online entirely. Sony said, “In the interest of keeping our gamers, retailers, and staff safe amidst Covid-19, today we are confirming that all day-of launch sales will be conducted through the online stores of our retail partners”.

There will be no units available in-store for purchase on the exact launch day. This means that it is not necessary to camp or line up outside stores in hopes of getting your hands on the new PS5 console. Other than that, Sony goes on to explain that those who have pre-ordered for pick-up at their local retailed can still do so at their designated appointment time, provided they follow the retailer’s safety protocols.

Sony also added, “A special thank you to our entire community for your continued support this year. Here’s to the next generation of gaming”.
