Selangor Water Supply Expected To Resume Operations From 3pm Today

Sungai Selangor Water Treatment Plant (LRA) Phase 1, 2, 3 and Rantau Panjang resumed operations at 2.40 early this morning.

Selangor Water Management Sdn. Bhd. (Air Selangor) informed, it operates in stages after the reading of 0 TONs is recorded three times in a row.

As of 7 this morning, all four LRAs have completed cleaning and pumping activities in each division in the treatment process at the LRA to ensure the quality of water supplied is clean and safe, in accordance with the standards of the Ministry of Health (MOH).

“Quality verification has been done in every part of the water treatment process as well as the balance ponds and (also) has been confirmed no odor by the National Water Services Commission,” he said in a statement today.

Distribution systems are being worked on to stabilize before water supply can be distributed to consumers in all affected areas.

“The water supply recovery schedule by area will be informed after the water supply distribution system is stabilized.

“Water supply is expected to be received by consumers at 3 pm this evening in stages according to the position of the area in the water supply distribution system.

“Alternative water supply assistance will continue to help affected consumers, including mobilizing 111 tank trucks, providing 14 public taps and opening 17 Local Service Centers as well as distributing five (5) liters of drinking water,” the statement added.
