A rare white lion is seen to be proud of his appearance as he showcases his very beautiful mane at a lion sanctuary in South Africa.
The photo of the lion named Moya caught much attention across social media after he displayed his impressive mane at the Glen Garriff Conservation lion sanctuary.
In fact, if you look at some of the pictures taken, it shows that the six-year-old lion looks like the lion characters in movies like Narnia’s Aslan and the Lion King’s Mufasa.
Moya’s photographs were taken by a British photographer Simon Needham. Simon said he was stunned after seeing Moya for the first time.
“Moya’s stunning coat blew me away the first time I saw it,” said the photographer.
“It was difficult to get close to him, but I had a few moments when he came close enough for me to get a few great shots as he walked his territory,” Simon continued.
“When you are in the moment you don’t really get a chance to appreciate the beauty of it all but obviously afterward, I realized what lovely pictures we had,” he added.
Simon also hopes Moya’s pictures can help raise awareness about the sanctuary and the fate of lions in the wild.
