Comic Cartoonist ‘Artortoise’, Ikhsan Kamarudin Dies

On December 1 today was accompanied by sad news where comic cartoonist ‘Artortoise’, Mohamad Ikhsan Kamarudin’s (@ikhsanise Artortoise) passed away at 1.37 midnight last night.

The news was announced through Artortoise’s official Facebook page this morning.

“In this regard, we on behalf of Artortoise would like to apologize to anyone who knows him if Allahyarham made a mistake or there are his works that offend anyone, either intentionally and unintentionally,” said the statement.

Therefore, Artortoise asks for prayers from all its followers and fans as well as citizens so that the journey of the deceased to meet his Creator is made easier.

It is understood that the body will be buried in Bandar Seri Putra, Kajang this morning.

“Thank you for always supporting Artortoise all this time. Insya-Allah Artortoise will be back one day,” the statement added.

Looking back, the late Ikhsan previously suffered from stage three nasal cancer, besides being admitted to Selayang Hospital to receive treatment for Hepatitis B or liver complications since 22 October.

“So far (at that time), there is still no positive development and his health is deteriorating due to his very weak immune system after undergoing chemotherapy for cancer,” the site explained in a post on October 29.
