Magnitude 6.4 Quake Strikes Off Coast of Chile

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 28 — A magnitude 6.4 earthquake struck off the coast of Central Chile this morning at 5.39am (Malaysian time).

The Malaysian Meteorological Department in a statement today said, the quake occurred about 228km west of Temuco, Chile, at a depth of 10 km.

The quake does not pose a tsunami threat to Malaysia, it added.
