“Although this year’s Christmas Day will be celebrated on a moderate-scale according to the standard operating procedures (SOP) set by the government (to curb the spread of COVID-19), the demand for essential items for Christmas is still expected to rise compared to during the non-festive season,” he said when announcing the scheme via the ministry’s Facebook Live app today.
