The bride, Lauren Jimenez, 29, was tested positive for COVID-19 days before her wedding with Patrick Delgado, 27, on November 20.

The two had already planned their wedding but had to reschedule and change their dates because of the pandemic even as their marriage license was about to expire.

Instead of calling off the big day again, the couple just adjusted their plans to getting married from an open window with Lauren in the second-story bedroom and Patrick on the sidewalk, Romeo and Juliet style!

Because of the on-going pandemic and strict quarantine rules, they had to go through a lot of obstacles before finally arriving at this day where they decided to tie the knot.

Patrick said to Fox 40 that they had to reschedule their wedding three-time, where they had to cut friends on the first, and extended family on the second.

The final guest list initially was just 10 people, but they landed on 40 people in the end, with strict social distancing.

“We were cautious throughout the entire time, making sure that we always wore our masks everywhere,” Patrick said. “When she got that positive test result, I’ll be honest, it took a massive toll on her.”

Patrick and Lauren had been engaged for over a year after four years of being together – they couldn’t push their date back anymore. Plus, their marriage license is about to expire, since it’s only valid for 60 days after the license is issued.

Lauren isolated herself in her second-story bedroom, hanging out the window while her groom stood below.

The couple made sure everyone was comfortable with the plan, even having Lauren’s aunt making them a 9-meter ribbon with flowers on the ribbons that symbolize ‘unity, love, and physical touch.’

Even though it was not how Lauren had envisioned their big wedding day, she was still able to exchange her vows with her husband, where she was very thankful for. They have been through their toughest times as a couple together, and they persevered through it.

Lauren had told Good Morning America that if she and her husband could get through 2020, they can get through anything. One day, they’ll be able to share laughs about how unique and crazy their wedding day is, and someday, tell it to their children and grandchildren.

The photographer, Jessica Castellano had captured beautiful shots from their wedding, where they both looked very happy, but somehow still leaves a twinge in people who look at them – she described it as the most “2020 wedding” she has ever done.

Patrick and Lauren hope that they’ll be able to make a big party next year, where they’ll finally be having their first kiss as husband and wife.

“Being a quarantined bride has not been ideal, but I’m trying to make the best of our situation I can’t wait till I can be with Patrick and finally give him a kiss,” Lauren said.
