(Video) Puppy That Survived From An Alligator Attack Will Serve As ‘Deputy Dog’

Last month, a video has gone viral showing a 4-month-old puppy named Gunner was strolling with its owner in Estero, Florida when he was suddenly caught by an alligator.

At that time, the 74-year-old man Richard Wilbanks was surprised to see that the alligator had dragged his puppy into the water in his backyard pond in Lee County.

He immediately reacts and leaps into the pool to capture and open the jaw of the alligator before Gunner is able to flee.

Now, as Gunner’s courage and survival attack go viral, he will serve as a safety and security officer under the Deputy Dogs Pets on Patrol type program at the Lee County Sheriff’s Office.

Basically, his job includes visiting children to teach them about all sorts of safety-related problems.

“School bus safety, safety as it relates to the water — alligators in the pond, toads, cane toads. Any types of danger that children face every day,” said Carmine Dellaquilla from the Deputy Dogs program.

As reported by Dog of the Day, Wilbanks stated how eager he and Gunner were to meet new people, and when asked if Gunner would be nervous in a room full of children, he said that Gunner should have no problem facing a room full of children after surviving jaw gator!
