MET Malaysia Denies Malaysia Will Be Hit By Cold Weather Like City Of London

The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MET Malaysia) in a statement denied the spread of cold weather information such as the City of London will hit the country this February.

The news spread on various social media platforms such as WhatsApp is a fake news in 2016 that was re-broadcast.

MET Malaysia explained that the cold weather conditions experienced in most areas of the Peninsula, especially the East Coast and West Coast at this time, are due to the humid and cloudy weather that continues for several days due to the cold winds that hit the country.

“The conditions of the country’s cloudy region and no direct sunlight for the past few days also contribute to the occurrence of colder weather conditions than usual.

“On January 3, 2021, the minimum daily temperature recorded in Terengganu, Pahang, and Johor is 21-22 degrees celsius and this situation is normal when it rains and cloudy during the day,” he said.

Met Malaysia also reminded the public to get authentic information on weather warnings through the official website and official social media site of MET Malaysia or through the hotline 1-300-22-1638 and the myCuaca application.
