The removal of Gina Carano from The Mandalorian’s cast earlier this month surely upsetting the fans of the series. Gina Carano played Cara Dune, a former Shocktrooper turned mercenary and marshal. She was one of the pivotal supporting roles in the series.

She posted continuous inflammatory posts on her social media about various controversial subjects. As a result, Lucasfilm fired Carano via social media early this month. Some criticize the studio’s actions for dropping the actress in such away. Others saw it as comeuppance for her unprofessional conduct as a representative of the brands.

Carano addressed her termination in the hit series as follows:

“That was heart-breaking, but I didn’t want to take away from the hard work of everyone who worked on the project, so I said ok. That was the last time I was contacted about any type of public statement or apology from Lucasfilm. I found out through social media, like everyone else, that I had been fired.”

As upsetting as it is for the loss of  Carano’s portrayal of the character, everyone will be curious as to Lucasfilm’s next move in filling the void left. There is not yet any confirmation on recasting the role. But fans can only speculate. Hopefully, things would be better for the sake of the franchise.
