A group of dogs turned pink and blue in eastern Russia. The strange phenomenon occurred near an abandoned chemical plant in the eastern Russian city of Dzerzhinsk that had previously produced a toxic substance.
According to the New York Post, it is also a material used to produce ‘Prussian blue’ dyes. Experts believe that the information can help explain some of the dogs in the city change color.
Zoozashchita Veterinary Hospital chief doctor Dmitry Karelkin officially blamed the blue color of the chemical as the cause.

However, it is understood that the material does not pose a danger to animals.
Meanwhile, researchers from the Lobachevsky Research Institute of Chemistry at Nizhny Novgorod State University as well as the Committee for State Veterinary Surveillance found no signs of chemical burns to the animal.
The results of the dog’s blood and stool tests also did not show significant poisoning. However, the discolored dog was placed under observation for 20 days.
Meanwhile, no announcements have been made to specifically address dogs that are turning up pink.
