Tiger Woods Injured After Being Involved In A Car Accident, Suffered Broken Legs And Ankle

Golfer Tiger Woods underwent surgery for multiple leg injuries on Tuesday after being involved in an accident in Los Angeles, USA.

It is said that at the time of the incident, he was driving on his way to a golf course in Los Angeles, for a photoshoot.

Woods, 45, was driving a sports utility vehicle (SUV) alone, before being involved in an accident at about 7.12 am.

Deputy Carlos Gonzalez, who first arrived on the scene, said he sometimes catches people topping 80 mph in the 45 mph zone and that crashes are common there.

“I will say that it’s very fortunate that Mr. Woods was able to come out of this alive, ” said Gonzalez.

When he arrived, a neighbor told him that the driver was still in the vehicle. Gonzalez said he poked his head through a hole in the windshield and saw Woods with his seat belt. Gonzalez then asked Woods questions, including what day and where he was.

“Tiger was able to speak to me lucidly,” added Gonzalez. He said Woods looked ‘very calm,’ probably because he was still in shocked.

Firefighters who rushed to the scene had to use ‘jaws of life’ to rescue him who was trapped in the car.

Woods was rushed to a nearby hospital, Harbor Medical Center-UCL, where he is currently undergoing surgery to treat several leg injuries.

The matter was informed by his agent, Mark Steinberg in a statement shortly after the accident.

“Tiger Woods was in a single-car accident this morning in California where he suffered multiple leg injuries. He is currently in surgery and we thank you for your privacy and support,” he said.
