(Video) Hotel Manager Also Participates, Selling Food As Low As RM3 During MCO 2.0

We were all informed yesterday that the Movement Control Order 2.0 (MCO) will be extended until 18 February 2021. Certainly, the announcement made many people feel a bit worried to continue their daily activities.

Of course, various industries in the country are affected by the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, especially the hospitality and tourism industry. It is not impossible with the implementation of the MCO, to some extent it will affect the business and cause more hotels to close.

The matter was also felt by a manager of a hotel in Macalister Road, George Town, Penang. Through a post on Instagram, BERNAMA uploaded a video showing the hotel manager Jeffrey Lim selling food in front of the hotel building.

‘Three ringgit, three ringgit is what Red Rock Hotel Manager Jeffrey Lim chanted while holding a manila card with the words ‘RM3 Only’,” wrote BERNAMA.

According to the hotel manager, he along with the hotel employees had to find other sources of income as there were no bookings for visitors to the hotel due to the Movement Control Order.

The hotel staff started selling menus cooked by the hotel chef to help their staff who were desperate following the MCO.

Among the menus sold are bihun tomyam, fried rice, and chicken rice. It was all sold for only RM3. May they all not give up on keeping their business running.
