5 Men Got Arrested, Handling Noisy Gang Member’s Funeral Procession With Firecrackers

Recently, five men got arrested by the police after handling a noisy allegedly ’36 Gang’ member’s funeral procession with firecrackers were set off in Kuala Lumpur on the 16th of March 2021. The 36 logos is believed to be linked to a secret society. Videos of the incident have gone viral on social media, after which the police received two reports regarding the videos. The videos are said to be taken at Pantai Dalam and Jalan Tun Sambanthan in Kuala Lumpur on the 14th of March 2021.

According to Brickfields District Police Chief that is Assistant Commissioner Anuar Omar, the first report was made by a senior police officer who saw the 36-second video of the funeral procession that shows a hearse passing through different parts of the city. The second report was also made by a senior police officer, who saw a 58-second video of the vehicle with a gang symbol.

Anuar Omar added, a police team from the Criminal Investigation Division of the Brickfields District Police Headquarters (IPD) arrested five men aged 18 to 26 at five separate locations between 9 pm and 2.30 am after receiving the reports. The police also seized four vehicles that are a Toyota Vellfire, Toyota Camry, Honda Civic, and a Yamaha LC135 motorcycle along with a flower wreath arranged to show the numbers 36, which is believed to be in reference to ‘Geng 36’.

He also said preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects and the deceased were friends since childhood. The deceased was a 28-year-old man, who died in a car accident at 7 am on 14 March. Prior to his death, the deceased told his friends that he wished that his relatives and friends would set off firecrackers to send him off.
