More Than Half Million Singapore Received 1st Dose Vaccine & No New Locations Visited by Covid-19 Cases

The Ministry of Health (MOH) Singapore announced there are no new locations added to the list of places visited by infectious cases. This brings positive signs to the vaccination program.

On March 14, the Education Minister of Singapore announced that over 500,000 people in Singapore – which comprised nearly 10% of the country’s population, have received the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine. The Ministry of Health earlier updated that they will prioritize people aged 60-60 and people in priority sectors such as education.

Minister of Health, Gan Kim Yong said that they will monitor the development of the pandemic and the effectiveness of the vaccine on the Singapore residents.

Yesterday, the MOH confirmed 17 new cases which sum the total cases of 60,105. All of them are imported with 15 asymptomatic.

Of the imported cases, there are:

  • Four Dependant’s Pass holders arrived from France, India, and Nepal.
  • One Long-Term Visit Pass holder arrived from India.
  • One Student’s Pass holder arrived from India.
  • One Work Pass holder arrived from Nepal.
  • Eight Work Permit holders arrived from Bangladesh, India, Myanmar, and the Philippines, of whom one is a foreign domestic worker.
  • Two Short-Term Visit Pass holders, one of which arrived from the Philippines to visit her Singaporean relatives, and one who arrived from India to visit his family member working in Singapore.
