Perlis Allows Congregants From Same House To Stand Close Together

KANGAR, March 22 — People living in the same house will be allowed to stand close together when performing the congregational prayers in mosques in Perlis, from tomorrow (March 23).

The Raja Muda of Perlis, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail said other congregants still need to observe physical distancing of at least one metre as stipulated in the standard operating procedures.

“The permission to perform prayers by standing close to each other is only given to family members staying in the same house,” he said in a statement issued by the Islamic Religious Council and Malay Custom Perlis (MAIPs) today.

Tuanku Syed Faizuddin who is also MAIPs president urged the people to always prioritise integrity and honesty to ensure the smooth implementation of the rulings that have been issued.
