Success Story: “Education Is Precious…” – Man Successfully Completed His Law Degree After Failing 41 Times

This 65-year-old-man really proves that determination and also hard work with doing what they really love really pays off in the end. This particular man from the Indian district of Dhenkanal has successfully completed his law degree after has been through a lot of failures back in his days. According to a report, this man named Trilochan Naik has been failing his matriculation exams a total of 41 times and he finally succeeded to complete it at the 42nd attempt.

Trilochan Naik first took his matriculation exam from his village’s Banasingh High School in Dhenkanal district in the year of 1972. Then, he finally managed to pass the exam after repeated attempts in the year 1993. In the exact same year, his eldest son that is Akhil Naik graduated class 12 in college. He really proved the saying, “Where there is will there is a way”.

After passing his class 10 exam, he then pursued his plus-2 studies from Dhenkanal College as he never wanted to give up on his studies. Next, he successfully cleared the class 12 exam after 10 attempts that he did. When he finally joined the graduation course at Dhenkanal Evening College, Trilochan Naik successfully passed without any delay. He even said, “Education is precious for survival and for someone to succeed in life. Keeping that in mind, I tried and tried, and after 41 attempts I finally passed my class 10 on my 42nd attempt”.

He also stated, “It is only through education that a person can understand what’s going on in our country and the outside world”. He mentioned that there were times when teachers at the Banasingh High School where he took his matriculation exams got irritated with having to fill up his forms twice a year and refused to do so.

Trilochan Naik then has secured his admission into the Dhenkanal Government College’s Humanities stream for the Plus Two or class 12 course in the year of 1997. The interesting part is, his elder son enrolled in the same college for his Bachelor’s degree in the exact same year.

During the recent Covid-19 lockdown period of the year 2020, Trilochan Naik successfully completed his LLB course from the Shri Biswaguru Law College specifically in Cuttack. Amazingly, he is now a registered lawyer after being admitted into the Odisha State Bar Council.

In the future, Trilochan Naik is hopeful of practicing law in Dhenkanal court. He also wants to continue his studies even further and pursue a Master in Law program next year.
