According to the post,

“The problem of illegal rubbish piles in residential areas and outside of garbage bins are still endless and is at a very critical level. Cleaning is done regularly with a frequency of once a week and the estimated weight of illegal waste reaches 40 tons during one cleaning job”.

They also added,

“To monitor illegal waste disposal and the habit of throwing rubbish outside the bin, the Taiping Municipal Council (MPT) has implemented the Portable CCTV Pilot Project in two hotspots since December of last year”.

The two hotspots are the Kamunting market garbage disposal lot and Taman Kota Jaya, Simpang. MPT also mentioned that they have successfully recorded the activities of irresponsible parties throwing garbage outside the rubbish bin and illegally, in both of the locations. The CCTV footage also managed to record the registration number of the vehicle owners who were detected dumping garbage in the areas. They then check at the Road Transport Department to identify the vehicle owners.

Since they’ve launched this initiative, they’ve successfully issued 67 compound offers amounting to RM16,750.00 and another 18 compound offers amounting in RM4,500.00.
