Beautiful And Agile In Martial Arts, The Legendary Story of Puteri Walinong Sari

The name that was given to her is Puteri Walinong Sari, a beautiful and very charming princess who came from Inderapura (Pahang). Puteri Walinong Sari is also a brave princess, she is rumored to be very good at playing weapons such as keris, throwing spears, and learning martial arts such as silat gayung. When Puteri Walinong Sari entered the court of martial arts, she would be complete with dress robes, face covered with a hood. This symbolizes her as a Malay princess who still maintains her dignity.

She never lost in any of her fights. Whoever can defeat her in martial arts will be raised to be her husband. One day, there is a heavenly prince named Raja Mambang Segara, the son of Raja Kayangan Raja Laksamana Petir who comes from the top of Mount Tahan and he is hunting. Raja Mambang saw a group of people rejoicing, then he saw the banner of the royal family. Raja Mambang knew that it was Puteri Walinong Sari’s entourage, Raja Mambang had already heard a lot of stories about Walinong Sari.

Raja Mambang immediately wanted to see the beauty of Walinong Sari apart from testing Walinong Sari’s martial arts. Raja Mambang arrived in the town and changed himself into a poor young man, then Raja Mambang approached Walinong Sari, by handing her a tray with a very beautiful carving, Walinong Sari pulled the stretcher curtain and saw a poor young man, suddenly Walinong Sari throbbed when she looked into the poor young man’s eyes. She felt that something was stabbing her heart. Walinong Sari was honored to receive a gift from the poor young man, Walinong Sari and her entourage went home to the palace.

At night, Walinong Sari could not sleep because she remembered the poor young man. The next day, Walinong Sari was getting ready to go to town, Walinong Sari met again with the poor young man. This time the poor young man gave Walinong Sari a yellow umbrella as a gift, and the next day Walinong Sari went to the market and the young man gave Walinong Sari another flower of melor. Walinong Sari greeted the poor young man and asked if the poor young man was good at martial arts.

The poor young man said that he was only a bit good at martial arts. Walinong Sari then invited the young man to fight with her. It turned out that the young man’s martial arts knowledge was much better than Walinong Sari’s fighting knowledge and she knew she would lose the battle this time. In order to maintain the dignity of the palace, Walinog Sari was willing to do anything to win the fight. 3 days 3 nights Walinong Sari fought, until that critical moment, Walinong Sari pulled the hood that covered her face, the light of Walinong Sari’s face was visible. Seeing the beauty of Walinong Sari’s face, the young man continued to be stunned, and Walinong Sari took the dagger to the young man’s stomach then the young man fainted and suddenly the young man turned into Raja Mambang Segara.

Witnessing that, Walinong Sari ordered that Raja Mambang was immediately carried to the palace. Walinong Sari is loyal to the side of Raja Mambang Segara. Suddenly lightning struck and thunder sounded loud and the body of Raja Mambang Segara disappeared from view. Seeing the incident, Walinong Sari fainted. In the unconscious, Walinong Sari dreamed that she met Raja Mambang Segara at the top of Mount Tahan.

The next day, Puteri Walinong Sari disappeared from the palace until now, some say that Puteri Walinong Sari went to Gunung Tahan to look for her lover, Raja Mambang Segara. Sometimes Puteri Walinong Sari is seen appearing in Inderapura with a maid, a person is shadowing Puteri Walinong Sari with a yellow umbrella, sprinkling Puteri Walinong Sari’s steps with melor flowers filled into a beautifully engraved tray.
