MAKKAH, April 6 — The General Presidency for the Affairs of the Grand Holy Mosque and the Prophet’s Holy Mosque has completed all its preparations to receive Umrah performers and worshipers during Ramadan who have been vaccinated, while adhering to health protocols, and precautionary and preventive measures in force on the Two Holy Mosques.
Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported that this is accordance to the Tawakkalna application for immunisation categories (Immune Person who received two doses of the COVID-19 vaccine / Immune Person after 14 days of receiving the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine / Immune Person who has recovered from the infection).
It reported that the spokesman of the General Presidency for the Affairs of the Grand Holy Mosque and the Prophet’s Holy Mosque, Hani bin Hosni Haider, confirmed that the presidency obligated all its employees participating in the service of Umrah performers and worshipers to take vaccines in order to ensure their safety and the safety of all the visitors of the Grand Holy Mosque, to perform their rituals with ease, taking into account the highest health standards.
Hani Haider pointed out that sterilisation operations continue in the Two Holy Mosques, and these operations are increasing with the advent of the holy month of Ramadan, with the participation of approximately 5,000 workers who perform sterilisation and disinfection operations around the clock, and the Presidency wash and sterilise the entire Grand Mosque up to 10 times daily.
With regard to Umrah, the spokesperson drew attention to the fact that the General Presidency has allocated the Mataf courtyard for Umrah performers only, creating 14 virtual paths for the performance of Tawaf (circumambulation), taking into account the physical distancing, and the three paths closest to the Kaaba are specified for the elderly and people with disabilities.
He stressed that the General Presidency and the concerned authorities within the Two Holy Mosques will not be complacent in implementing the precautionary measures. He also called on everyone to cooperate and adhere to the preventive measures and physical distancing, aimed at preserving their health and safety.
