ANKARA, June 7 — Prince Harry and Meghan Markle welcomed their second child in a hospital in California on Friday, the couple announced in a statement on Sunday, Anadolu Agency (AA) reported.
The baby girl, Lilibet “Lili” Diana Mountbatten-Windsor, was named after Harry’s grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, who is known in the royal family as Lilibet, and his mother Princes Diana.
She was born at the Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara, California.
Both mother and the baby are “healthy and well, and settling in at home,” The Duke and Duchess of Sussex said in their statement.
“Thank you for your continued kindness and support during this very special time for our family,” it followed.
The baby is “more than we could have ever imagined, and we remain grateful for the love and prayers we’ve felt from across the globe,” they said.
The Buckingham Palace congratulated the couple in a written statement, saying: “The Queen, The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall and The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are delighted with the news.”
Lilibeth Diana is the 11thgreat-grandchild of Queen Elizabeth, also the sister of two-year-old Archie Harrison. She is eighth in the line of succession to the throne.
